CEMS Technician – Join a Dynamic Environmental Team!

As a **CEMS Technician** , you’ll be an essential part of a team that installs, maintains, and operates **Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS)** at industrial sites across the country. Your role helps businesses comply with environmental regulations while ensuring accurate, reliable emissions monitoring.
This position offers **light travel** to client sites—sometimes for a few days at a time—providing the chance to work in different industrial environments. You’ll also build strong relationships with clients and external agencies while continuously enhancing your technical expertise.
What You’ll Do
+ Conduct **third-party EPA air emissions testing** for industrial and manufacturing clients.
+ Transport, set up, and break down monitoring equipment at various job sites.
+ **Calibrate equipment** , collect samples, and maintain accurate data records.
+ Assist engineers with **air quality testing** while following environmental, health, and safety protocols.
+ Maintain and clean testing equipment to ensure peak performance.
+ Prepare and load equipment into company vehicles for upcoming assignments.
+ Study for and earn certifications in **EPA Test Methods 1-5** with company-provided resources.
+ Provide on-site technical support to ensure reliable monitoring operations.
+ Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain emissions monitoring equipment.
+ Offer remote assistance to clients via phone and email.
+ Document job progress and provide feedback to clients and internal teams.
+ Collaborate with clients to address issues and implement solutions.
+ Comply with all **safety regulations** and uphold a professional company image.
+ Perform in-house equipment **repair, fabrication, and maintenance** .
+ Stay adaptable to additional responsibilities as needed.
What You Bring to the Role
+ **High School Diploma required** ; technical training or certifications are a plus!
+ **1+ year of hands-on experience** in field testing, maintenance, industrial work, or similar roles.
+ Comfortable with **regional travel** —overnight stays in hotels may be required.
+ Prior experience in a **hands-on, field-based role** .
+ Strong **mechanical aptitude** and confidence working at heights.
+ Ability to **lift up to 75 lbs** when setting up equipment.
Bonus Qualifications
+ **B.S. Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field** (preferred but not required).

Work Environment
Your work will take you to **industrial sites** such as power plants, steel mills, refineries, and manufacturing plants. Expect an **active field role** involving setup at varying heights (100–400 feet), where temperatures can fluctuate with the seasons.
Work schedules vary, with field days lasting **8–10+ hours** , while warehouse days are typically **8 hours** . Teams range from **3 to 20 members** , depending on the project scope.
You’ll wear **jeans, long-sleeve t-shirts, boots, coats, and stocking caps** in cooler months.
Travel & Flexibility
Assignments can range from **single-day jobs to week-long projects** , with occasional **weekend work** . Work consistency may shift due to weather, with warehouse or home-office tasks available during slower periods. Large-scale projects can require **up to 60 hours per week** , including **paid travel time** .

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $39.00/hr.
