    Job Title: Lead Field EngineerJob Description

     

    The position of Lead Field Engineer is pivotal to the business, focusing on the field commissioning of building automation systems tailored for individual customers. We seek a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and customer-focused team member who can act as a role model for other field engineers, solve complex problems, and provide training to less experienced engineers.

    Responsibilities

    + Initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize customer systems using advanced Direct Digital Control technology.

    + Serve as the local contact for technical issues.

    + Offer effective solutions for complex system issues.

    + Provide turnkey project delivery on medium to large projects.

    + Ensure that systems operate properly, including controls, sensors, and software.

    + Load software, configure trends, alarms, and reports.

    + Implement time management strategies to ensure customer satisfaction.

    + Communicate and document the status and details of the project for the customer.

    + Provide site-specific training to owners/operators on the complete system.

    Essential Skills

    + HVAC, computer, electrical, technician, installation, commissioning, controls, building automation, troubleshooting.

    + Field service expertise in electronics and use of oscilloscope.

    + Knowledge of TCP/IP networks.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Diploma or GED.

    + 4+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or related field.

    + Bachelor’s degree, Associate Degree, Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma in HVAC, Controls, or related field is preferred.

    + Proficiency with advanced building automation software, such as WebCTRL.

    + Ability to navigate and integrate into various building automation systems.

    + Expertise with TCP/IP networks, including wireless technology.

    + Experience in handling a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges across multiple disciplines.

    + Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.

    + Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.

    + Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is located in Boyton, VA, supporting the Microsoft Data Project Center. The typical work hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. There are no on-call shifts required in the installation group, offering a stable work schedule. Candidates must be capable of climbing ladders or using lift equipment over 8 feet above grade and lifting items up to 50 pounds.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $44.00/hr.
