    Project Coordinator, ePluribus Stanford

     

    Critical inquiry, constructive dialogue within and across groups, and a civic culture that promotes citizenship and sustains liberal democracy are central to the mission set out in Stanford’s Founding Grant.

     

    **ePluribus Stanford** is a Provostial and Presidential Initiative designed to expand and amplify a shared commitment to these goals across the university. A centerpiece of the initiative is teaching the constitutive skills for critical inquiry, bridge building and leadership in intellectual and civic life. Drawing on expertise from across the University’s multiple existing programs, and building innovative, new programming to supplement these efforts, the new initiative functions as a center of gravity at all levels of academic life (curricular, co-curricular, research, and residential). Core activities of the initiative include:

    + Designing and amplifying constructivedialogueskill-building programs and integrating them throughout the campus community through both existing and new channels.

    + Creating and sustaining a vibrant community of practice at Stanford University, and across institutions of higher education, to elevate expert knowledge, research, collaboration, and programming that advances critical inquiry, free and constructive discourse, and civic engagement.

    + Developing strategic partnerships and strategic communication to connect this foundational work to what it means to be a responsible citizen in the world, sustain liberal democratic norms, and effectively address collective action and policy challenges.

    + Designing and conducting assessments to support further innovation and maintain Stanford’s role as a leader in this space.

    Position Summary

    ePluribus Stanford is seeking a Project Coordinator to provide vital support to the initiative’s leadership team. This role will work closely with the Executive Director and Faculty Directors to manage and implement various programming and activities essential to the initiative's goals.

     

    Ideal candidates will possess strong research and presentation skills, demonstrating the ability to conduct independent research projects with minimal supervision while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, as the Project Coordinator will interact with senior academic staff, executives, department personnel, and students.

     

    In this role, you will engage in a range of administrative and research tasks, working collaboratively with various departments within the Law School, across the broader university, and with external partners to accomplish diverse programmatic and academic objectives.

     

    The Project Coordinator will be based at the Law School and will report to the Executive Director, Faculty Co-Directors, and the Director of Administrative Support Services. This is a one-year fixed-term position, with the potential for renewal at the school’s discretion. The role is a full-time equivalent (100% FTE) and is benefits-eligible.

    CORE DUTIES

    + Act on behalf of the supervisor, department manager, or chair in regards to establishing priorities and identifying and resolving problems that are administrative in nature.

    + Assist the Executive Director and Faculty Directors in planning, scheduling, and tracking the overall workflow of core programmatic components, e.g. summer programming, signature fellowship, ongoing constructive dialogue trainings, bi-annual campus community grants program, annual Provostial award, and emerging programming.

    + Research and/or write background information for meetings.Participate in meetings on supervisor’s behalf, inform after the fact.

    + Oversee and/or perform duties associated with scheduling, organizing, and operating complex conferences, seminars, and events, including arranging with vendors for services, overseeing the production and distribution of materials, administering logistics, and managing events within budget.

    + Assist with event planning and lead logistical coordination of events, including speaker series, guest and ePluribus team travel, workshops, trainings, and community of practice leadership meetings, as well as ad hoc events and convenings.

    + Compose and draft documents and correspondence for presentations, course handouts, grants, conferences, seminars, and reports; perform substantial research editing and fact checking. Create, maintain, modify, and/or ensure accuracy of content in various unit documents, displays, reports, brochures, social media, and/or websites.

    + Create complex reports and spreadsheets that may utilize specialized software and systems. Make recommendations based on reports.

    + Oversee and/or process a variety of complex financial transactions; produce, monitor, and reconcile budget statements; research, identify, and resolve discrepancies. May assist with capital or special equipment requests and/or vendor selection.

    + Analyze and review material and extract pertinent information for briefing purposes and reporting on the overall monitoring and assessment of the initiative.

    + Responsible for leading the administrative functions of the initiative.

    + Proficiency in design and creative communications skills is valuable.

    _The expected pay range for this position is $44.84 to $50.43 per hour._
