The GPS Data Engineering role is responsible for delivering identified projects and providing operational support for the Enterprise Data Lake. This position involves documenting, designing, building, and maintaining scalable and efficient data infrastructure on the AWS platform to support the GPS Analytics and AI Enablement team. Additionally, the role includes supporting Analytics Operations and the Analytics Engineering.
The ideal candidate will possess advanced, hands-on data engineering skills using AWS and Python. Responsibilities include maintaining data engineering pipelines and proposing ideas to automate these pipelines. Furthermore, the role involves coaching and mentoring a technical team of developers in designing, building, managing, and operating the GPS Enterprise Data Lake capabilities throughout the technology lifecycle, in support of the Global Product Development and Supply - Analytics & AI Enablement team
Position Responsibilities:
+ Develop and maintain Data Engineering pipelines and support documents (STTM, requirement etc.)
+ Work with business /stakeholders to gather Data Enginering requirement
+ Document data lineage for cross-capability data exchange and transformation
+ Develop and maintain information flow and data interchange requirements
+ Understand and evaluate current and emerging data, analytic and reporting technology trends
+ Develop sustainable, reusable design patterns and best practices that can be leveraged by the enterprise
+ Partner and collaborate with capability teams as well as enterprise platform teams
+ Architect scalable enterprise data lake and analytics solutions using AWS managed services that support the diverse data requirements
+ Support continuous evolution of Master and Reference Data Management capabilities
+ Support continuous evolution of metadata management capabilities
Skill Requirement:
+ Minimum 3-4 years of experience with Information Technology and Information Management systems, designing, implementing, and/or supporting analytic platforms (data warehouse, data hub, ETL/transformations, and/or Business Intelligence) related activities satisfying complex information needs within the life sciences industry
+ Hands-on expertise in AWS Services(Glue, S3, Lambda, Athena, Redshift, Kinesis, EC2, IAM, cloudformation, sagemaker etc) and Python
+ Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
+ Experience with applying AI/ML technologies in ETL to optimize engineering pipelines
+ Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
+ Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issue
+ Experience with Big Data, Master Data Management (MDM), Data Visualization, and/or Data Virtualization for both structured and/or unstructured data
+ Experience in working in geographically dispersed teams and virtual collaboration
+ AWS certification optional but beneficial
Education Requirement:
+ Minimum bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or equivalent
