Job Summary
As an **Associate Director of Digital Content** , you will be a driving force behind creating innovative content and channel strategies that elevate our Global Communications initiatives on our internal and external channels! Your mission is to craft consistent and compelling content that enhances and reinforces Lilly’s brand reputation, creating a best-in-class customer experience for our target audiences.
Working closely with Communications directors and subject matter experts, you’ll weave together cohesive and impactful storytelling that resonates deeply with audiences while aligning with our strategic business goals. You’ll be hands-on in developing clear, engaging, and persuasive content tailored for various platforms, ensuring it reflects our brand voice and messaging and supports our content strategy.
With your expertise in content marketing, you’ll implement targeted strategies and harness social media to boost audience engagement and growth. Your role will also involve adapting content based on trends and performance, allowing you to make data-driven adjustments that keep our strategies fresh and effective. Strong project management skills will be crucial as you juggle multiple initiatives, collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional teams to meet tight deadlines. Your ability to build connections will facilitate networking and collaboration with stakeholders, while your adaptability will ensure we create quality content in a fast-paced environment.
Basic Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or a related field
+ 8+ years of experience in content marketing or communications
+ Experience leading team members and/or vendors
+ Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Lilly will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization and/or visas for this role.
Strongly Preferred Skills and Capabilities
+ Strong writing skills: Ability to craft clear, engaging and persuasive content for various platforms
+ Audience personalization expertise: Advanced understanding of how to convey a consistent message, but shift content approach for the specific platform and audience
+ Content marketing knowledge: Apply content marketing principles, including SEO and audience targeting, to develop strategic plans that resonate with core audiences
+ Social media proficiency: Advanced understanding of social media platforms and strategies for audience engagement and growth
+ Brand strategy insight: Knowledge of brand positioning, voice, and messaging to ensure consistency across communications
+ Editorial calendar management: Help create, maintain and optimize an editorial calendar to align with company strategic initiatives
+ Research and analysis: Ability to understand market trends, audience preferences and performance insights to quickly and appropriately optimize content as needed
+ Creative thinking: Collaborate with other writers and team designers to generate innovative ideas that resonate with target audiences
+ Relationship-building: Experience in networking and collaborating with stakeholders and influencers
+ Adaptability: Willingness to stay updated on industry content trends and evolving brand strategies and adjust outcomes accordingly
Additional Preferences
+ Master’s degree is a plus
+ Knowledge of various digital marketing and PR tactics
+ Understanding of on-trend video and photo content creation, interviewing, scripting, etc.
+ Experience with content management systems and publishing platforms
+ Proficiency in Adobe design, content and PM software, including Workfront
+ Experience working in a complex corporate environment
+ Experience working in a highly regulated industry

A writing portfolio will be required
This position will report to the Senior Director of Content and Editorial, Global Communications.
Some international and domestic travel expected as conditions and business needs emerge.
Located in Indianapolis.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$122,250 - $179,300
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
