Pediatric Specialty Care in Point Pleasant, PA (Bucks County) is seeking an motivated and enthusiaticRecreational TherapistforFull Time!We are currently seeking a Recreational Therapist to provide treatment services and recreation activities to individuals using a variety of techniques in order to improve or maintain physical, cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual functioning in order to facilitate full participation in life.

Recreational Therapist Shift Options (7.5-hour shifts):

+ Shift:9:00am-5:00pm, with weekend availability!

Recreational Therapist Status Defined:

+ Full-time: 5 - 7.5 hour shifts per week, every other weekend availability,Benefit eligible.

Responsibilities

Recreational Therapist:

+ Complete a comprehensive assessment of each child, and determine needs areas

+ Plan course of treatment to address needs areas by writing individualized goals for the child

+ Implement activity-based interventions to work toward accomplishing goals developed by therapist

+ Evaluate the current plan quarterly to assess effectiveness of goals and interventions

+ Document the process

+ Assist nursing staff and other disciplines as needed

+ Attend program meetings, such as IEPs, ISPs, appointments etc

Qualifications

Recreational Therapist:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy from an accredited institution required

+ “CTRS” (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) credentialed preferred

+ A minimum of 2 years’ experience working with individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities

+ Experience working in a long term care or hospital setting

+ Experience with pediatric population

+ Must be 21 years or older
