    Mon-Fri. Department Leader on call approx. 10 weeks per year

    General Summary

    Manages day-to-day operations, personnel and activities of assigned area(s).

    Duties and Responsibilities

    + Evaluates recorded images for technical quality.

    + Introduces and demonstrates new techniques, equipment, and research findings to staff.

    Common Expectations:

    + Recommends staffing levels, selects and assigns staff, evaluates performance, evaluates/tests competencies (as applicable), provides orientation, training and continuing education of staff, and initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions.

    + Coordinates and integrates services within the department/service line/entity, with other departments/service lines/entities, and with the System's primary functions. Participates in the selection of outside services (if needed).

    + Continuously assesses and improves the department/service line/entity/System's performance. Maintains appropriate quality control/assessment programs (if applicable).

    + Assists in developing budgets.

    + Maintains departmental reports and records and collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes.

    + Responsible for the care and maintenance of department/entity equipment and supplies.

    + Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.

    + Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

    + Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.

    + Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

    + Performs radiographic examinations.

    + Recommends sufficient space and other resources required by the department/service line/entity.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education:

    + Associate's degree Required

    + Bachelor's Degree Preferred

    Work Experience:

    + 3 years Relevant Leadership Experience Required

    Licenses:

    + Registered Technologist-Cardiac Interventional Radiology - ARRT Upon Hire Required or

    + Registered Technologist-Computed Tomography - ARRT Upon Hire Required or

    + Registered Technologist-Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology - ARRT Upon Hire Required or

    + Registered Technologist-Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) - ARRT Upon Hire Required or

    + Registered Technologist-Nuclear Medicine Technologist - ARRT Upon Hire Required or

    + Registered Technologist-Radiation Therapy - ARRT Upon Hire Required or

    + Registered Technologist-Quality Management - ARRT Upon Hire Required or

    + Registered Technologist-Radiography - ARRT Upon Hire Required or

    + Registered Radiologist Assistant - ARRT Upon Hire Required or

    + Registered Technologist-Vascular Interventional Radiology - ARRT Upon Hire Required
