We serve as a flex plant and are able to produce everything from a whole pasteurized egg to liquid, dried, hardboiled and curds.

    Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

    Reporting to the Plant Controller, the Accounting Manager position is responsible for a variety of financial, accounting, and reporting functions including, but not limited to, month end close, Cost Accounting, SOX compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. This role supervises cost accounting staff. This position is a key part of the plant leadership team and helps drive results while maintaining financial integrity. Position main office can be either Wakefield or Norfolk, NE plant offices with an approx. weekly drive to the other office location. Plant locations are approx. 42 miles apart or a 45-minute drive.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Manage the Cost Accounting Department in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and company policies and procedures. Maintain the general ledger by approving/preparing journal entries, verifying posted transactions, directing, and assisting in the validation of inventory movements in SAP and verify variances within accounts. Ensures accuracy of monthly KPI reporting, shrink review and variance analysis. Utilize plant reporting to communicate opportunities or risk to future estimates. Responsible for the integrity of inventory quantities, valuation, and movements. Collaborates with relevant corporate and plant groups to ensure execution of product costing for new and existing products. Supports Annual Budget and Quarterly Forecasting Direct and assist in the reconciliation of the material inventory accounts and review of finished product. Supervise, train and develop Cost Accounting staff. Play a major role in the design, development and implementation of any additional internal plant supplemental reports as required by the Plant Controller. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Complete any special projects or other duties as assigned. Comply with SOX requirements. Qualifications Skills to be successful: Experience with Bill of Materials and Product Costing Demonstrated aptitude for effectively supervising and directing the work of others. Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with others. MS Excel Intermediate to Advance skills. Demonstrated aptitude for utilization of computer technologies (Excel, SAP, SQL, Power Query, Tableau, Power BI, and data cubes) Highly developed analytical, problem solving, and project management skills SAP experience preferred, but not required. Education and Experience: College degree in Accounting or Finance. 4-7 years of accounting/finance experience required. At least 2 years supervisory experience preferred. Experience in manufacturing industry & cost accounting experience is preferred. Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification a plus.
