Job Description:
Under general direction of a lead worker or manager, performs highly skilled repair, installation, maintenance work and general and preventive maintenance on Culinary Services’ facilities and equipment to ensure consistent and efficient operations.
• Adheres to all OSHA and/or Ohio University required safety guidelines;
• Performs highly skilled job functions on repair and maintenance of commercial Culinary equipment and facilities;
• Performs highly skilled job functions to include, but not limited to: carpentry, carpet/tile, controls and electrical work, painting, plumbing, preventative maintenance;
• Provides work direction, training and mentoring of lower level workers; inspects buildings and equipment for needed repairs or replacement; performs systematic and routine preventative maintenance;
• Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
• 48 months of verifiable training and/or experience in the maintenance and repair of commercial equipment and facilities;
• Valid driver’s license;
• Successful completion of a test may be required;
• Knowledge of safety practices;
• Computer literacy;
• Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral, and pictorial form;
• Ability to work independently or with others;
• Demonstrate dexterity and skill in use of craft-associated hand and/or power tools and equipment;
• Ability to read and write common vocabulary in sentence structure;
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, calculate fractions, decimals and percentages;
• Ability to apply principles to solve practical problems;
• Knowledge of all applicable OSHA and/or Ohio University safety guidelines and procedures;
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.,
• May be exposed to dirt, grease, odors, cramped conditions, extreme hot or cold temperatures, heights, and electrical hazards;
• May be exposed to dangerous machinery; confined spaces.
