Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida, on a contract to permanent basis. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and efficient network infrastructures, both on-premises and in cloud environments. Your expertise will contribute to optimizing performance, scalability, and security across the enterprise while supporting advanced connectivity solutions such as private 5G networks and next-generation firewalls.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement high-performance network solutions, including VLANs, SD-WAN, and Cisco networking technologies.

• Configure and manage Cisco routers and switches to ensure secure and efficient routing, switching, and connectivity.

• Deploy and maintain Fortinet and Palo Alto firewalls, implementing security protocols and monitoring for threats.

• Support the integration and scalability of private 5G networks to enhance wireless communication and on-site connectivity.

• Configure and optimize virtual networking systems such as FL Net to align with existing architecture and cloud environments.

• Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds to proactively identify and resolve issues.

• Troubleshoot hardware and software network problems to ensure uninterrupted operations.

• Document network configurations, diagrams, and procedures for effective knowledge sharing.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT operations and cybersecurity, to drive key infrastructure projects.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for network security and performance.

Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, with hands-on expertise in Cisco routers and switches.

• Strong knowledge of VLANs, subnetting, and IP addressing schemes.

• Proficiency in managing and configuring Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls.

• Experience with private 5G networks and FL Net virtual systems.

• Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds and Cisco DNA Center.

• Understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, and DNS.

• Knowledge of cloud networking platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Preferred certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
