Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in San Francisco, California. This long-term contract position offers flexible hours, making it ideal for professionals seeking a dynamic and adaptable work environment. The role involves managing key financial processes, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting the accounting team with essential tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Process accounts payable invoices and accurately record credit card expenses for corporate and marketing departments.
• Review and edit automated invoices related to proposal and marketing fees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor daily cash flow and verify referral fees using designated forms, coordinating with the Controller for approvals.
• Generate invoices for acceptance fee refunds and create referral fee invoices as needed.
• Perform bi-weekly accounts payable check runs, including formatting reports, adding vendor details, and submitting for approval.
• Prepare month-end financial documents such as servicing fee invoices, uploading receipts to designated platforms, and updating schedules in QuickBooks.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.
• Utilize software tools including QuickBooks and bill.com to streamline financial reporting and account management.
• Maintain organized records and documentation to support audits and regulatory compliance. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and bill.com.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable, account reconciliation, and financial reporting processes.
• Ability to perform check runs and manage expense reimbursements effectively.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools for documentation and reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with internal teams.
• Flexible availability to work 20-30 hours per week, with options to spread tasks across days.
