Description We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Sellersburg, Indiana. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in managing accounts receivable processes, ensuring compliance with financial policies, and improving operational efficiency through the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs). This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the full-cycle accounts receivable process, including invoicing, payment tracking, and reconciliation.
• Follow up on overdue accounts and maintain positive relationships with customers and vendors.
• Collaborate with teams to evaluate current processes and develop comprehensive SOPs for accounting workflows.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations by implementing best practices.
• Reconcile accounts receivable sub-ledgers with the general ledger during month-end close processes.
• Prepare detailed financial reports related to receivables and cash flow for management review.
• Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate and organized records.
• Identify opportunities for system or process optimizations and assist in their implementation.
• Stay informed about industry trends and accounting standards to recommend process improvements. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of accounting experience with a focus on accounts receivable.
• Proven ability to develop and document standard operating procedures.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Oracle, or SAP.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities to collaborate effectively and draft SOPs.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
