Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller to join our team in the financial services sector, based in Boston, Massachusetts. The Controller will be a key team member responsible for managing financial reporting, ensuring the accurate administration of financial records, and providing guidance to colleagues. The role requires collaboration with various teams within the finance department to gather necessary data for reporting.

Responsibilities:

+ Develop detailed financial plans, including budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis, while collaborating with department heads to align financial goals with overall business and tax strategies.

+ Monitor weekly cash balances and short-term projections, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

+ Perform monthly reconciliation of account balances and oversee credit and account monitoring.

+ Oversee the preparation and updates of monthly budgets and spending reports.

+ Manage the processing of weekly payroll for assigned employees.

+ Conduct monthly performance evaluations on external investments.

+ Create quarterly projections of five-year cash flows and net worth summaries.

+ Fulfill ad hoc reporting requests in an efficient and timely manner.

+ Maintain and review internal private equity databases for updates on new investments, cap table changes, and valuation adjustments.

+ Prepare, review, and update quarterly tax payments, and coordinate with tax preparers to finalize tax filings.

+ Collaborate with tax counsel on audit-related activities.

+ Advise senior management on the development and implementation of accounting and financial policies to ensure compliance and establish internal controls.

+ Consistently communicate with external parties, such as investment teams for performance updates and valuations, accountants for tax planning and filings, and other relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

+ Seven plus years relevant experience with investment management or alternative investments or family office (private equity and hedge funds, a plus), with at least one year in cost accounting/financial management required

+ BA/BS degree in Accounting or Business Administration

+ CPA/CFA/CFP/MBA preferred or equivalent experience

+ Professional investment planning and tax planning preferred

+ Experience with Investran, QuickBooks, Bill.com a plus

+ Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload

+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills
