Required Education/Experience
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 3 years of engineering work experience in the development and application of technical principles in substation equipment rating, application, specification, engineering, operation, and maintenance.
Preferred Education/Experience
+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 3 years of engineering work experience in the development and application of technical principles in substation equipment rating, application, specification, engineering, operation, and maintenance.
Relevant Work Experience
+ Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) - Required
+ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with personnel on all levels - Required
+ Be knowledgeable in basic engineering design and principles - Required
+ Possess a working knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards associated with substation equipment - Required
+ Ability to write specifications and standards and coordinate engineering projects and assignments - Preferred
+ Preference will be given to candidates with a specialization in electrical or power systems - Preferred
Skills and Abilities
+ Demonstrated analytical skills
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Effective interpersonal skills
+ Develops and delivers effective presentations
+ Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.
Licenses and Certifications
+ Driver's License Required
+ Professional Engineer (PE) Preferred
Additional Physical Demands
+ The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
+ Must be able to work in and around substations that are under construction and/or in service.
+ The positions involve working around electrical equipment, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, and ladder climbing.
+ Must be available to work additional hours, as needed, for system emergencies or equipment outage schedules.
