    Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Eisenhower Golf Course, Air Force Academy, Colorado. This position includes benefits. Responsibilities Responsible for all arrangements for catering activities (ie: banquets, parties, retirements, promotions, memorials, luncheons, weddings and receptions, bar service, dining in/outs, etc.) requiring food and beverage service catered by The Grill at Eisenhower, Room Rentals or Outdoor Wedding Venue rental at Eisenhower Golf Club. Obtains pertinent information from host, such as menu, number of guests expected timeline for arrival and service, décor and linens, Audio Visual (AV) needs, room layout and seating arrangements. Draws up party contract and obtains client's signature. Writes up Banquet Event Orders for lead cook and other personnel concerned with party activities. Draws a room layout for wait staff to set up room according to client requests. Inspects final arrangements for events to ensure that all contractual arrangements are met insofar as Eisenhower Golf Club is concerned; greets host and hostess; observes the event in operation to ensure service provided is efficient and courteous. Meets with clients for event details including floral, DJ, cake, menu, colors, timeline, rehearsal, and set up. Maintains the event reservation book and event contracts. Supervises the staff of the catering operations and bar to include staffing, performance management and training. Ensures staff is trained on all aspects of service to guests (ie: how to set tables, proper table service etiquette, how to replenish buffet, bussing, etc.). Schedules employees in proportion to the event needs. Calculates gratuities, initiates billing and accounts receivable, receives guest payments and enters account receivables in POS system. Prepares after action P/L statement per event for management assessment. Approves payroll, acquires cash bag from safe for opening cashiers or bartenders, orders linens and uniforms from contracted linen company, and uses Purchasing Card (p-card) for banquet supplies as well as food and beverage supplies when Food and Beverage Supervisor is away. Collaborates with food and beverage supervisors to make weekly schedule. Performs other related duties as required. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have catering experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, schedule, and organize special events for large groups of people to include catering services; lead staff and oversee the food preparation and facility layout for group functions; organize activities which require coordination involving several sources of services or personnel. Must have experience in methods and procedures relating to food preparation and presentation gained in a grill, snack bar, restaurant, club, or similar food activity. Applicant must have supervisory experience leading staff in a restaurant, club or similar activity. Must have knowledge in costing out products and menus, as well as, proper portioning of food. Must know the proper purchasing, receiving, storage and preparation techniques. Knowledge of catering software (Caterease, Room Viewer or similar) preferred. Computer experience required, including Excel, Publisher, and Word. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Must have cash handling experience. Must have a valid driver's license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner. Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 level) is required. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal Affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Direct deposit is required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. A probationary period may be required. Pre-employment requirements must be satisfactorily met prior to Entrance on Duty (EOD). Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
