Description
The Associate Chief Technologist, Nuclear Medicine, supports the Chief Technologist in managing day-to-day clinical operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. This role combines hands-on clinical expertise with administrative oversight, serving as a key resource to technologists and helping to maintain workflow, regulatory compliance, and service standards. The Associate Chief steps in during the Chief's absence and plays a critical role in maintaining continuity across operations, supporting staff development, and promoting best practices in imaging procedures.
Salary Range: $54.07-123.04/hr
Qualifications
+ Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
+ Current national certification
+ ARRT (N) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Nuclear Medicine
+ NMTCB - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
+ Valid California Radiologic Technologist - Nuclear Medicine (CRT-NM) license issued by the California Department of Public Health - Radiologic Health Branch (CDPH-RHB).
+ Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent.
+ Minimum 5 years of clinical experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
+ At least 1 year of leadership, supervisory, or lead technologist experience in a nuclear medicine or hybrid imaging setting.
+ Proficiency in general nuclear medicine and PET/CT procedures.
+ Strong knowledge of radiation safety, quality control, and compliance with state (CDPH-RHB) and federal (NRC, TJC) regulations.
+ Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
+ Strong leadership and organizational skills.
+ Experience in training, mentoring, or education.
Preferred:
+ Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
+ Experience working in a large academic medical center or complex healthcare environment.
+ Familiarity with imaging systems such as PACS, RIS, and Epic Radiant.
+ Certification in CT (ARRT (CT)) if working in PET/CT hybrid imaging environments.
+ Prior involvement in training, quality assurance, or accreditation preparation (e.g., IAC, TJC).
