    Description

    JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Reports directly to Operations Director and/or Assistance Director of Day & Community Services

     

    < Maintain Sensory Garden grounds, ponds, greenhouse, building and Rise & Spirit building Huntington

     

    + Lawn, plantings, irrigation, weekly, seasonal cleanups.

    + Ensure that physical plant safety measures are met at both sites.

    + Pathway upkeep as needed.

    + Janitorial duties: cleaning common areas kitchen, bathrooms including garbage removal.

    + Mentor/train individuals enrolled in both PWW’s on basic lawn, planting (including greenhouse), ponds and basic crafts, i.e. woodworking.

    + Ability to work with individuals who attend PWW to mentor in cooperation with staff to teach ground/maintenance skills.

    + Liaison with outside vendors as it pertains to grounds & building maintenance.

    + Maintain buildings electrical, carpentry, painting, plumbing $ HVAC.

    + Assist with van maintenance both sites.

    + Assist PWW program as needed. In all area’s

    + Assist with PWW special events, fundraising as needed set up & take down.

    TIME ALLOTMENTS:

    Duties at Sensory Garden (15 hours per week) preferably Wednesday & Thursday

     

    Vehicle provided by program

     

    Non-Exempt Status

     

    HS Degree/GED required

     

    Valid NYS Drivers license required
