Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Part Time (10 hours per week) Staff Accountant to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. This contract position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to essential accounting operations and ensure the accuracy of financial records. Responsibilities:

• Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with accuracy and efficiency.

• Conduct timely and accurate bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between financial records and bank statements.

• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are properly documented and categorized.

• Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with accounting standards.

• Assist in the month-end close process, including preparing financial reports and reconciling accounts.

• Review and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and provide solutions.

• Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP to manage financial records.

• Collaborate with team members to support audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

• Monitor and improve accounting processes to enhance overall efficiency.

Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.

• Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations and preparing journal entries.

• Familiarity with month-end close processes and financial reporting.

• Hands-on experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations to ensure compliance.

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines.

• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
