Description

We're working with a growing manufacturer in Ocean Springs, Mississippi to find a senior accoutnant. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, managing reconciliations, and overseeing cost allocations. This is an excellent opportunity for a meticulous individual to contribute to financial reporting and analysis within a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss reports.

• Maintain and update the general ledger, depreciation schedules, and fixed asset listings.

• Accurately process invoices, establish new customer and vendor accounts, and ensure proper coding.

• Manage cost allocations, accruals, and stage payment reconciliations for direct expenses.

• Collaborate with product development teams to set cost standards for manufactured products in alignment with internal policies.

• Conduct regular allocations of materials and labor in compliance with company procedures.

• Analyze project budgets, forecasts, and variances, ensuring alignment with financial goals.

• Perform inventory reviews, cost reconciliations, and general ledger adjustments as needed.

• Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and address inquiries from financial institutions.

• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required.

• Minimum of three years of relevant accounting experience.

• Strong proficiency in general financial accounting and cost accounting principles.

• Hands-on experience with NetSuite is highly preferred.

• Experience with cost accounting is a plus.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Power BI is a plus.

• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to prepare accurate tax reports and adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
