Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Lewiston, Maine. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring accurate and efficient payroll processing, tax reporting, and benefit administration. This position requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and proficiency with payroll systems.

Responsibilities:

• Process biweekly payroll by importing electronic timesheets, running reports, and finalizing payroll activities.

• Update and maintain payroll files, including setting up accruals and monitoring account balances.

• Review and approve quarterly tax information and sign off on payroll tax reports.

• Reconcile payroll reports, balance general ledger files, and ensure accurate financial postings.

• Upload and verify general ledger files for accuracy and completeness.

• Handle 401(k) and RRSP administration, ensuring timely contributions and compliance.

• Manage benefit-related functions, including enrollment and updates.

• Utilize accounting software systems and UKG platforms (Ready and Pro) to support payroll operations.

• Analyze payroll data for discrepancies and take corrective actions as needed.

• Provide support and guidance on payroll-related inquiries and issues. Requirements • Proven experience in payroll administration and processing.

• Proficiency in accounting software systems and familiarity with UKG Ready and UKG Pro.

• Knowledge of 401(k) and RRSP administration and benefit management.

• Strong understanding of payroll tax reporting and compliance requirements.

• Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
