    Description

    Our client is looking for an experienced Accountant to join their team on a contract basis in Des Moines, Iowa. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to essential accounting operations, including accounts receivable management, donor contributions tracking, and month-end reconciliations. The position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a solid understanding of accounting principles and administrative tasks.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage accounts receivable processes, including sending reminders for outstanding donor contributions.

    • Oversee membership database updates and ensure accurate integration with accounts receivable records.

    • Perform month-end reconciliations, ensuring cash inflows and outflows are balanced appropriately.

    • Support financial reporting by handling light accounting tasks and verifying data accuracy.

    • Assist with administrative duties tied to daily transactional accounting operations.

    • Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting workflows and maintain financial accuracy.

    • Provide support for auditing processes and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

    • Utilize accounting software systems to efficiently record and analyze financial transactions.

    • Address inquiries related to accounts payable and accounts receivable with professionalism and clarity.

    Requirements

    • Proven experience in accounting roles, preferably with accounts receivable.

    • Proficiency in using accounting software systems to manage financial data.

    • Strong understanding of month-end reconciliation processes and financial reporting.

    • Ability to manage membership databases and integrate them with financial operations.

    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in handling transactional tasks.

    • Effective communication skills for donor outreach and team collaboration.
