Summary You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (SYSANALYSIS) in the DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY/SPAWAR SYSTEM COMMAND of NAVWARSYSCEN PACIFIC SAN DIEGO CA. Responsibilities You will plan, engineer, implement, and analyze network modernization activities with special focus on addressing the complexities of native, cloud, and hybrid cloud architectures across the Naval Enterprise to ensure critical mission needs are met. You will solutions and recommend resolutions to customer and/or cloud capability issues, and review technical data and specifications in support of DoDIN-N operations. You will develop advanced tests and experiments to support network performance and security testing and analysis, and manage assigned tasks, projects, and areas of responsibility. You will develop status reports for assigned tasks, and travel as needed to support naval maintenance activities, understand network topologies, and install network monitoring equipment. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: providing daily oversight and technical coordination to include, but not limited to, planning, engineering, implementing, and analysis of network modernization activities with the focus on addressing native, cloud, and hybrid cloud architectures. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Develop solutions and recommend resolutions to customer and/or cloud capability issues, and review technical data and specifications. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Manage, lead, and perform work that involves developing, delivering, or supporting IT systems and services. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: interact with stakeholders, leadership, and develop and present briefs. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band NO-05 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, engineering, implementing, and analysis of network modernization activities focusing on addressing the complexities of native, cloud, and hybrid cloud architectures; and developing advanced tests and experiments to support network performance and security testing and analysis to include technical documentation of results, finding, and recommendations. Education Additional Information Tour of Duty will be 24 months. This position is in the Science & Technology Reinvention Laboratory (STRL) Human Resource Management System pay band for Department of Defense laboratories. The pay schedule and pay band for all Administrative Specialist/Professional Positions will be NO-1/2/3/4/5/6. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
