Job Title: Design ManagerJob Description
As a Design Manager, you will organize and manage design reviews, construction design packages, and deliverables to support all aspects of construction. This includes defining strategies for design and engineering deliverables and owning the full design and engineering efforts for construction and infrastructure development from concept to delivery. You will manage permitting and construction documents, coordinate project schedules, and build strong relationships with various cross-functional teams. Your role will also involve implementing innovative engineering and design methodologies to meet aggressive program and construction schedules.
Responsibilities
+ Organize and manage design reviews and construction design packages.
+ Define strategies for design and engineering deliverables including construction and permit packages.
+ Own the full design and engineering efforts from concept to delivery.
+ Manage permitting and construction documents including transmittals and RFI’s.
+ Coordinate project schedule with construction team based on procurement and construction requirements.
+ Translate stakeholder requirements into project deliverables.
+ Manage all aspects of technical planning, scope development, change management, and engineering services during construction.
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams for overall program alignment.
+ Understand different project delivery methods such as design bid build and integrated project development.
+ Implement innovative engineering and design methodologies.
Essential Skills
+ Proficient in design, drafting, mechanical design, and facilities design/layout.
+ Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, CAD, and power distribution.
+ Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
+ Minimum 5 years of professional experience.
+ Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams within A/E firms.
+ Experience with managing complex MEP projects.
+ Fully understanding of all engineering disciplines.
+ Proven record in delivery of IFB, IFP, and IFC packages.
+ Familiarity with VDC approach to project management.
+ Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $42.30 - $89.43/hr.
