Key purpose
Work with key stakeholders to deliver industry-leading positioning and communication of SLB technologies, services, and products to the market. Lead the Creative Department and manage the systems and processes that generate customer-facing sales and marketing collateral to reinforce SLB’s position as the market leader. Identify and champion new communication technologies and approaches that complement or replace existing channels or methods. Demonstrate leadership in exploiting online tools and www.slb.com as marketing vehicles.
Responsibilities:
People
+ Manage, develop, and evolve the Graphics Design teams, a diverse and unique organization within SLB comprising creative individuals and skills.
+ Maintain a personnel plan for self and team, including training, development, and succession. Manage as per SLP3 process. Define position descriptions and objectives for all, aligned and cascading from higher levels.
+ Implement and participate in training programs to ensure a motivated and industry-leading team in all areas of assigned competence.
+ Develop people within the team for art direction and ability to work in various projects.
+ Develop skills required to meet the diverse needs of MarCom, including design for the Web, ads, technical articles, case studies, and others as required for effective on brand materials.
+ Develop individuals’ knowledge and skills with respect to significant online and digital media tools, such as slb.com, mobile devices, and apps.
Sales and marketing communications - general
+ Work closely with Division MarCom Managers and Corporate to launch and nurture Solutions, campaigns, services, and product introductions.
+ Ensure an integrated, consistent approach for all Solutions, campaigns along with Tier 1 and 2 launches that are consistent with brand identity and contain appropriate messaging for the personas and target audience.
+ Execute cohesive messaging at appropriate levels, including major industry domains and technical challenges.
+ Ensure the quality and consistency of advertisements for both digital and print.
+ Within MarCom teams, be the custodian of the SLB Master Brand. Work with the Marketing Communications Director for the ongoing management of the master brands strategy.
+ Work closely with the Web team and Media Channels Manager to ensure consistency in the online presentation of all collateral, including case studies, technical papers, industry articles and the promotion events.
+ Develop and ensure compliance with a standard approach to presentation, including for multi-language content, that is integrated with other collateral.
Web-enabled marketing
+ Maintain all slb.com web pages to defined standards, to better market Schlumberger solutions, campaigns, services, and products.
+ Work with Divisions and Corporate to have an integrated approach across all web communications vehicles, evaluate the metrics for search and e-mail campaigns, and drive improvement.
+ Evolve slb.com content and presentation to ensure industry leadership, effectively adopting new technologies as appropriate.
+ Develop Technical Challenge communications (e.g., for shale, deep water, heavy oil) that transition from customer challenges and language to specific services and products.
+ Ensure that all marketing campaigns comply with SLB standards and brand.
Other
+ Communicate MarCom capabilities and plans across the company.
+ Maintain MarCom content on The Hub.
+ Maintain and support IT requirements (MacBooks, servers, software licenses, updates) for the Creative Services team.
+ Maintain systems and applications.
+ Provide ad hoc support, as required, to Senior Leadership, Investors Relations, and others.
Qualifications
Deep marketing and branding knowledge; strong general industry understanding and relevant domain knowledge; expert-level graphic design skills; excellent project-management, people-management, and communication skills. Expert in all industry-standard design software. Possesses a highly creative vision and exemplifies professionalism to staff and customers. Clearly capable of advancing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards for execution, accuracy, adherence to brand standards, and attention to detail.
Experience
10+ years agency or in-house experience, including management and strong industry understanding.
