PLUMBING DESIGNER POSITION DESCRIPTION

**Job Title:** Plumbing Designer

**Department:** Plumbing/Engineering

Reports to: Divisional Vice President & Mechanical CAD Manager

**FLSA Status:** Non-Exempt

**Prepared By:** Human Resources

Job Summary:

Seeking a Plumbing Designer to produce all drawings and sketches required by field and shop personnel to fabricate and/or install plumbing systems in compliance with national and local codes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Produce the following drawings:

1. Plumbing underground drawings

2. Shop drawings and detail drawings

3. Sleeve penetration drawings

4. Coordination drawings

5. Prefabrication drawings

6. As-built drawings

2. Provide necessary design and co-ordination documents to architect and design build team on design-build projects.

3. Review contract shop drawings.

4. Prepare design / drafting in AutoCAD, MEP 2022, Revit 2024 & Navisworks

5. Provide necessary documents and information to Project Managers and associated personnel relating to contract changes, equipment buyouts, change orders, etc.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Actively be involved with the job supervisors, foreman and project managers to provide information and assist in the solution of design related problems.

2. Attendance of coordination meetings.

3. Working with the Prefabrication Department in the fabrication of work going to the field.

4. Attend co-ordination meeting with electrical, architect, and plumbing design team.

5. Attend job progress meeting.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

1. Must read and understand architectural and trade drawings.

2. Good communication skills.

3. Understanding of National Standards Plumbing Code & New Jersey Plumbing Code.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE** :

1. Minimum 3-5 years experience in the plumbing industry.

2. Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience in design of Plumbing systems required.

3. Minimum 1 year experience of drafting design and co-ordination drawings in the plumbing industry on AutoCAD, MEP 2022, Revit 2024 & Navisworks 2024.

Compensation Range: 72-89k
