Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team in Encino, California. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a pivotal role in preparing and reviewing various types of tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and detail-oriented individual to collaborate with clients and internal teams while contributing to effective tax planning strategies.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review a high volume of individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and non-profit tax returns with precision and compliance.
• Manage complex tax filings utilizing CCH ProSystem fx and QuickBooks Online/Desktop to ensure accurate and timely submissions.
• File and reconcile quarterly and annual payroll tax returns, including forms such as DE9, W-2, and W-3.
• Maintain detailed client records and financial data, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Engage directly with clients to gather necessary tax documents, resolve discrepancies, and offer detail-oriented tax guidance.
• Conduct research to address complex tax issues and respond to notices from federal or state tax agencies on behalf of clients.
• Partner with colleagues and leadership to implement tailored tax planning strategies for individuals and businesses.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, sharing insights with clients and internal teams.
• Assist in onboarding new clients by setting up accounting systems and initiating tax planning consultations.
• Foster a collaborative team environment focused on delivering accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional client service. Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of experience in tax preparation and related financial services.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as CCH ProSystem fx, QuickBooks Online/Desktop, and Drake Tax Software.
• Solid understanding of payroll tax filing processes, including forms DE9, W-2, and W-3.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance standards.
• Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly.
• Ability to research and resolve intricate tax issues effectively and efficiently.
• Experience in data management and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting while managing multiple priorities.
