Description

Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting a Senior Accountant to support our large publicly traded client on a 2+ month engagement based on-site in the South Bay area. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will primarily provide support in accounting and financial reporting activities (including monthly/quarterly/annual closes and SOX audits).

Responsibilities:

• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Prepare and review journal entries and accruals, including those related to incentive programs, managing a high volume of deliverables.

• Perform account reconciliations and create detailed schedules and analyses using advanced Excel skills.

• Collaborate with audit teams to support compliance and audit activities related to the automotive segment.

• Evaluate current reporting processes to identify opportunities for increased accuracy and automation.

• Maintain adherence to corporate accounting standards and policies within a publicly traded company environment.

• Provide insights and recommendations for process automation and improvements using tools like Power Query.

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment on financial deliverables and timelines.

Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of corporate accounting experience, preferably within a large, publicly traded organization.

• Strong proficiency with SAP and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and data analysis.

• Experience in account reconciliation, journal entries, and month-end close processes.

• Knowledge of process automation tools such as Power Query is highly desirable.

• Proven ability to evaluate and improve financial reporting processes.

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.

• Familiarity with compliance and audit practices in the automotive industry is a plus.
