    The University of Miami UHealth/SoLé Mia opening June 2025, will bring high-quality academic medicine to North Miami, Aventura and surrounding communities. Our expert team of physicians and staff will represent a wide range of specialties, including NCI–designated Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the number one eye hospital in the nation. UHealth at SoLé Mia will also deliver the latest in urologic treatments from the renowned Desai Sethi Urology Institute as well as top-notch care from UHealth’s nationally ranked neurology and neurosurgery programs.

     

    UHealth/SoLé Mia has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Surgical Scheduler with a hire date of March 2025. Be part of the UHealth Difference.

    CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

    1. Obtains pre-authorizations for procedures as required by insurance companies.

    2. Oversees, produces, and distributes all surgical and procedural schedules to physicians and departments.

    3. Collaborates with patients, families, staff, and providers within the office and the greater community to schedule surgeries, pre-op physicals, and testing.

    4. Coordinates with hospitals and vendors for special cases or circumstances. 5. Identifies ways to streamline surgical scheduling process and provides suggestions to managing staff.

    6. Ensures electronic systems and scheduling tools are up-to-date and operating smoothly, and contacts appropriate personnel to resolve any issues.

    7. Ensures documentation is complete to support accurate billing of surgical procedures.

    8. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

    CORE QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:

    High School diploma or equivalent

    Certification and Licensing:

    Experience:

    Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

    Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:

    + Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

    + Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

    + Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

    + Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.

    + Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).
