Job Title: Welder
Job Description
We are seeking skilled MIG welders to join our expanding production team. Specializing in the manufacture, sale, and service of aerial devices, digger derricks, cranes, and specialty equipment, we serve multiple industries including electric utility, telecommunications, tree care, construction, and light and sign maintenance. With a recent expansion, we are experiencing over a 50% production increase, and we need talented individuals to contribute to our growth.
Responsibilities
+ Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols to determine sequence and methods of assembling components.
+ Read and interpret work orders accurately.
+ Utilize basic hand tools such as tape measurer and specialty tools, and operate all equipment within the work area.
+ Perform rework as required to ensure quality standards.
+ Support production initiatives, including participation in RCI events.
+ Cross-train and move to other work areas as needed to support production needs.
+ Lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines on material using shop math and layout techniques.
+ Perform MIG welding using a variety of arc and gas welding equipment.
+ Inspect assembly/components for conformance to specifications.
+ Trim, file, grind, sand, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces using hand tools and portable power tools.
+ Train new and current associates as required.
+ Follow established safety, environmental, and quality policies, procedures, and practices.
+ Maintain work area and shop tools/equipment.
+ Keep accurate daily time records.
+ Perform other job duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in MIG welding and blueprint reading.
+ Ability to perform fabrication, Tig welding, and work with stainless steel.
+ Experience with structural and FluxCore welding.
+ AWS D.1.1 weld certification required.
+ High School Diploma/GED required.
+ Basic computer skills and ability to read, write, and comprehend necessary.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Vocational training is desired.
+ Knowledge of shop math and layout techniques.
+ Flexibility to cross-train and support various production needs.

Work Environment
Our manufacturing and production environment is fast-paced and performance-driven, offering a challenging yet rewarding work experience. The facility is not climate-controlled, and employees are expected to adhere to a dress code consisting of plain colored T-shirts, jeans, and steel-toed footwear. We have multiple shifts available, with first shift running from 6:30am to 3:00pm and second shift from 3:15pm to 11:45pm. Some shifts may require overtime work before or after regular hours, including Saturdays.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Daleville, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.59 - $25.09/hr.
