The Sourcing & Category Specialist l supports the procurement and sourcing team in executing tactical purchasing and category management tasks. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates looking to grow within supply chain management and procurement functions, while learning industry best practices and systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITY:
+ Assist in collecting and analyzing spend data and supplier information.
+ Support the creation and distribution of RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs.
+ Help maintain contract records, including renewals and amendments.
+ Track supplier performance metrics and prepare reports for leadership.
+ Learn procurement tools such as ERP systems and contract management software.
+ Collaborate with internal stakeholders on routine procurement activities.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE DESIRED:
+ Strong organizational and communication skills.
+ Proficient Microsoft Suite, including Excel; familiarity with procurement tools is a plus.
+ Familiarity with procurement standards, best practices, and compliance regulations.
+ Demonstrate understanding and application of Nomad Core Values.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
+ Ability to stand and sit for extended periods.
+ Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
+ Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
+ Professional office environment with regular interaction with guests, clients, team members, and vendors.
+ Typical indoor manufacturing environment. Noise level is usually moderate. Safety glasses and closed-toe shoes are required when on the production floor.
+ Everyday workwear must be business casual/smart casual and appropriate for the office environment.
+ Subject to temperatures fluctuations if/when job duties require time on the production floor.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field.
+ 0–2 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain (internships included).
+ Interest in pursuing professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS).
