Grace Health is seeking an experienced and motivated Pharmacy Technician to step into the role of Pharmacy Technician / Inventory Coordinator. This individual will be responsible for maintaining an efficient inventory of medications and supplies to support pharmacy operations and prescription dispensing. We are looking for someone who has a strong interest in inventory management and takes pride in organization and accuracy. The ideal candidate will also bring informal leadership experience—someone who others naturally look to for guidance and who is confident taking initiative to improve inventory processes. A current Pharmacy Technician License is required for this position.
Requirements:
+ State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician License
+ 1 year of experience preferred
Description of Primary Responsibilities and Duties
+ Manage medication and supply inventory.
+ Ensures adequate inventory of medications, including those in the automated dispensing machine, and pharmacy supplies to support daily operations.
+ Identify and return overstocked or slow-moving items to reduce waste and avoid unnecessary expenses.
+ Monitor inventory for expired products and ensure timely removal from stock.
+ Process and manage daily drug orders.
+ Receive and send daily drug orders to wholesalers or manufacturers.
+ Work directly with wholesalers to resolve any discrepancies in orders, invoices, or shipments.
+ Track and manage backordered or shortened products, ensuring alternative plans are in place when needed.
+ Respond to recalls and product issues.
+ Act promptly in response to drug recalls by removing affected products from inventory and notifying appropriate team members.
+ Maintain detailed documentation related to recalled items and ensure compliance with recall procedures.
+ Perform regular inventory audits.
+ Conduct regular cycle counts to ensure physical inventory matches quantities in pharmacy software.
+ Lead full inventory counts as required by regulatory guidelines or organizational need.
+ Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between physical and digital inventory records.
+ Collaborates with the 340B Coordinator to generate and review inventory reports and conduct audits to ensure compliance with 340B program requirements.
