    About the Role & Program: 

     

    Walt Disney Imagineering is the creative force that imagines, designs and brings to life all Disney theme parks, resorts, attractions and cruise ships worldwide.     The approximate date of this internship is **August 2025 to December 2025** and will be located in **Orlando, FL.**

    What You Will Do:

    As a Collections Management intern, you will work within the department as an entry level museum collections intern. You will learn the role of a WDI Curator and assist on several projects. This person would work with a highly diverse collection of museum objects.

     

    You will have the opportunity to….

     

    + Document, label, and pack objects for storage and shipping

    + Work under a Curator and assist with documentation and installation of several exhibits

    + Work on maintenance tasks for current exhibitions such as cleaning, inventory, and documentation

    + Work independently on frequent occasions

    Required Qualifications & Skills:

    What you bring to the role…

    + Understanding of museum collections management practices and procedures

    + Basic object/art handling skills to handle and move fragile collection objects

    + Knowledge of packing objects for storage and packing for shipping

    + Knowledge of conservation materials and preventive conservation practices

    + Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and be able to climb a ladder

    + Knowledge of Walt Disney World property locations and company history

    + Ability to multi-task and be flexible in work assignments

    + Ability to hold sensitive information confidential, and follow security procedures

    + Skill in establishing priorities

    + Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; strong interpersonal skills

    + Excellent organizational and office skills

    + Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, the internet and other peripheral office equipment

    + Accuracy and attention to detail

    + Be a trust worthy, hands-on self-starter, and eager to expand horizons

    Preferred Qualifications: 

    + Knowledge of a museum collections database

    + Knowledge of collections cataloging standards

    + Experience working with museum collections

    Education:

    Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher attending an accredited college/university, earning a degree in Museum Studies, Art History, Public History, Humanities or related field.

     

    Eligibility Requirements & Program Information: 

    Candidates for this opportunity **MUST** meet all of the below requirements:

    + Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship

    + Be at least 18 years of age

    + Possess unrestricted work authorization

    + Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.

    Additional Information: 

    + Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work

    + MUST HAVE VALID DRIVERS LICENSE

    + Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship

    + Available full-time (40 hours/week) Monday through Friday, with flexibility for early mornings or late evenings as needed

    + Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Orlando area

     

    The pay rate for this role in Orlando, FL is $26.50 per hour for undergraduate, $27.50 for graduate students.
