Summary:
This position resides in Market Pricing and works alongside IT rating teamsto program andvalidate insurance product rates and related services. The person in this role will leverage a blend of business and technical competency to carry out their daily tasks.
The data analyst develops and validates data that will directly contribute to the overall performance of the actuarial area, with the potential to positively impact other departments across the organization and the results of the company. Will be accountable for making changes necessary to keep the data up-to-date and free of errors and therefore expected to thoroughly understand the data.
Responsibilities
+ Build and maintain countrywide data sets for all lines of business and systems
+ Responsible for developing and validating data
+ Ensure data accuracy and timeliness by developing optimal processes and procedures
+ Uses insurance knowledge to build dataset for Market Pricing's analytical needs
+ Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams such as Advanced Analytics and IT
+ Act as a liason between the actuarial data team and other data users, promote and encourage the adoption of our database, communicate with users who have submitted data requests, teach others to use our database and to use SQL, and take a leadership role in training meetings
Experience and Qualifications
+ 2-3 years of experience or equivalent related knowledge
+ Experience carrying out quantitative analyses.
+ Analytical, and coding experience
+ Identifying opportunities for process improvements and makes changes with help of manager
+ Completing basic to intermediate analyses independently
+ SQL or SAS coding knowledge
+ Participation in the market pricing training program and shows significant knowledge retention
+ 6 months of experience in supporting at least 1 of the following areas of the business:
+ PL / CL Product / Underwriting
+ Market Pricing
+ Claims
+ Actuarial - Reserving
Education:
Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent related experience
