    Description

    Are you an experienced and highly motivated accounting professional ready for the next step in your career? We’re seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Senior Accountant for a contract-to-hire role with a highly reputable organization.

     

    The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing complex accounting tasks, leading month-end and year-end closing processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You’ll also act as a mentor to junior team members and provide financial insights to support decision-making. The ideal candidate has exceptional analytical skills, a strong knowledge of accounting principles, and a proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Oversee and execute month-end and year-end close processes, including posting journal entries, preparing account reconciliations, and generating financial statements

    + Prepare and analyze profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports to support management in strategic decisions

    + Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements by maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records

    + Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, providing variance explanations as needed

    + Support the preparation of budget forecasts and perform variance analyses

    + Assist with audit preparation and interact with auditors to ensure completeness and accuracy of audit procedures

    + Collaborate with cross-functional departments to improve processes and identify areas for increased efficiency

    + Act as a mentor and resource for junior accounting staff, addressing questions and providing training as needed

    Requirements

    + Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting or audit experience preferred

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA strongly preferred

    + Proficiency in ERP software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle) and advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modeling

    + Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
