What You’ll Do:
In this well-rounded Accounting Manager position, you will:
+ Shape Financial Reporting: Prepare and ensure the accuracy of financial statements and reports, leveraging your systems experience.
+ Drive Financial Insights: Conduct financial analysis and assist with internal audits, supported by a team of 5–6 accounting clerks. You'll help organize workflows while recognizing the varying availability and skill levels of your team.
+ Team Guidance: Oversee and review staff-prepared bank reconciliations to verify account balances and ensure best practices.
+ Process Improvement: Evaluate current accounting practices and procedures, and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
+ Policy Building: Take the lead in developing an accounting manual that will shape internal processes and ensure consistency across the organization.
+ Data Analysis: Utilize Excel for in-depth analysis and leverage software for general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation.
Requirements
+ Education & Expertise: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, with proven experience in accounting and financial statement preparation.
+ Systems & Skills: Proficiency in SAGE, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software is essential. Exceptional Excel skills are a must.
+ Leadership Ability: Experience managing or planning the work of others and reviewing output to ensure quality. Strong leadership and the ability to collaborate effectively within a small team are vital.
+ Process Design: A knack for designing repeatable, scalable accounting processes to seamlessly integrate diverse sources of data into the general ledger.
+ Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills to interpret complex financial data and offer insights to influence strategic decisions.
+ Attention to Detail: A high degree of accuracy and strong organizational skills to juggle multiple priorities in a growing organization.
