    About the Position:

    TheHuman Resources Specialistwill work closely with the HR Coordinator, HR Manager, and Director of Human Resources to support the efficient operation of the HR department. This role encompasses a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, employee onboarding, retention initiatives, training and development, policy implementation, legal compliance, employee records management, and general administrative duties.

    Core Duties:

    + Model, promote and embody the LifeSTEPS workplace values of integrity, innovation, empowerment, respect and personal growth in tandem with the Oz Principles.

    + Follow all LifeSTEPS policies, procedures and guidelines.

    + Oversee and coordinate all recruitment efforts for all exempt and non-exempt personnel.

    + Collaborates with regional managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

    + Make recommendations for creative recruitment solutions if the organization is experiencing difficulties in attracting the appropriate level and quality of candidates.

    + Post and track open positions to ensure staffing levels are appropriately recruited for and filled.

    + Offer recruitment assistance as required for Corporate roles, encompassing resume/application screening, candidate interviews via phone, MS Teams, or in-person, facilitation of relevant assessments, and comprehensive completion of reference checks.

    + Serve as DOJ and IntelliCorp Custodian of Records; notify appropriate personnel of DOJ findings; regularly monitor and maintain DOJ portal.

    + Provide seamless onboarding to ensure new staff members have a strong and welcoming start to their journey with LifeSTEPS. From coordinating paperwork to introducing them to LifeSTEPS’ culture and policies, attention to detail will be vital in setting the stage for their success.

    + Lead engaging and informative new employee orientation sessions to familiarize them with our company mission, values, and expectations. Provide comprehensive guidance on policies and resources available to support their success within the organization. Ability to communicate effectively will be key in helping newcomers feel valued and integrated from day one.

    + Create new employee files and maintain the personnel records filing system in HRIS, e-file and physical formats.

    + Administer employee satisfaction surveys to gather valuable feedback on workplace experiences and areas for improvement. Assist in analyzing survey results and identifying trends to inform strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement and retention.

    + Take an active role in developing and delivering training sessions and/or workshops to LifeSTEPS Leadership employees.

    + Collaborate with Regional Directors and Supervisors to identify and recruit for volunteer needs; post volunteer advertisements, support volunteer screening processes, and partner with the HR Coordinator to ensure all volunteer paperwork is accurately collected, entered into the myLifeSTEPs.org database, and maintained in the e-filing system.

    + Protect the organization and its employees by keeping all Human Resources Department information confidential.

    + Enforce various human resources policies and procedures for all organization personnel.

    + Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

    + Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars.

    + Participate in development of department goals and objectives.

    + Complete special projects as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in a related field or HR Certification required.

    + Four (4) years of experience in a Human Resources setting.

    + Two (2) years or more year of experience in recruiting preferred.

    + An equivalent combination of education and additional experience may substitute for the degree

    + HRIS/Talent Management systems experience preferred.

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

    + Experience working in a non-profit setting preferred

    + Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail required.
