    The Assembly & Protection Solutions (APS) Global Division Materials Manager works with the Global Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) Manager to drive the key planning activities supporting on time delivery and inventory control processes and provides leadership of the Materials Management activities for the division. The position also provides functional leadership for Materials Management to APS operations globally. The Manager focuses on process-driven improvement and global best practices for balancing demand and supply with the more tactical processes of execution in planning and procurement.

     

    + This position is responsible for the global APS materials management.

    + This position is located in North America and will be based in Saegertown/Erie, PA, or Indianapolis, IN.

    + Global business with a scope of >$350M in product shipments from 8 facilities. This includes responsibility for alignment of demand & capacity planning, production scheduling, procurement, and inventory management, as well as indirect responsibility for these functions as deployed within the regional organizations.

    + Direct reports: ~1, indirect reports: ~7

    + Promote and foster a safe work environment

    + Coordinate staff training, development, evaluation and performance planning and ensures talent pipeline is in place for key functions

    + Employs data analysis and information technology to improve division performance and champions material master data accuracy. Guide the organization to utilize existing technology to its fullest extent in daily execution, particularly the forecasting system, capacity planning, PFEP and Materials Requirement Planning.

    + Serves as champion for on time delivery performance (OTR/OTP) and inventory optimization (DSI), working with operations to foster continuous improvement.

    + Champions a lean approach to materials management including material flow and inventory control. Develop appropriate inventory strategies to support targeted customer delivery at the lowest possible cost.

    + Collaborate with Inventory & Operations Planning Team to ensure the monthly execution of Demand Planning, Capacity Planning, and Inventory Management processes

    + Ensure that a valid and reasonable monthly material demand plan is maintained that represents all demand across all APS manufacturing facilities

    + Participate in SIOP reviews to ensure that labor and machine capacity reviews are completed each month so that cross-functional teams resolve projected supply-demand imbalances

    + Provide analysis and support to the executive team around on time delivery and inventory management execution

    + Local, national and international travel in the range of 15-20%

    Required

    + BA/BS in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, technical or related discipline

    + Minimum 3 years management experience including in supply chain or operations function

    + Experience with ERP / MRP systems and data reporting tools, specifically SAP

    + Experience managing results, metrics, and root cause-corrective action

    + Lean experience

    + Excellent math and quantitative reasoning skills

    + Strong oral communication and presentation skills

    + Strong problem-solving capabilities

    + Ability to manage several projects simultaneously with effective planning and communication skills

    + Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel

    + Analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend automation opportunities

     

    Preferred

     

    + MBA/MS

    + Experience in inventory control methodologies and Lean tools such as pull systems, ABCxyz stock analysis, and PFEP

    + Experience with products and technologies of APS Parker Lord primary market segments or product lines

    + Certified Professional Forecaster

    + Association for Operations Management (APICS)

    + Parker Supply Chain Executive Development Program
