Job Title: General Production Worker
Job Description
This role involves working in a facility specializing in de-boning pork items. The facility receives large cuts of meat from a plant in Central Illinois, where they are cut to remove bones and excess parts. You will be part of a team on production lines using handheld blades to make precise cuts. The role requires standing in the same area for the entirety of the shift and working on specific cuts of meat to ensure efficient production. The facility is not a slaughterhouse, and instead focuses on the meticulous trimming of received meat parts.
Responsibilities
+ Work on production lines using handheld blades for de-boning pork items.
+ Stand in the same area for the entire shift while operating on specific cuts of meat.
+ Maintain efficiency in production by working repetitively on different stages of the line.
+ Operate rollers to trim excess meat off of parts.
+ Wear GMP attire including special gloves, wrist guards, hair nets, and beard nets.
Essential Skills
+ Ability to consistently lift 30 lbs in a fast-paced environment.
+ Experience in positions requiring standing all day.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Previous experience in food production is a plus.
+ Experience in foods manufacturing or working with food, such as butchery or cooking.
+ Experience working in a refrigerated environment.

Work Environment
The facility is a 100% refrigerated environment maintained at 36 degrees. Employees are required to wear hair and beard nets as part of GMP standards. The job requires working on the first shift from 6am to 2:30pm. The environment is cold, and employees are encouraged to wear sweatshirts or hoodies for added warmth.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carpentersville, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.25 - $18.25/hr.
