Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Specialist
Job Description
The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring that environmental safety and industrial health programs are consistently implemented and maintained. This position is essential in promoting regulatory compliance and fostering a safe work environment within a chemical manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
+ Assist with audits, inspections, and regulatory reports.
+ Manage site emergencies and conduct incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
+ Enforce safety rules, work procedures, and requirements.
+ Partner with the EHS manager to ensure compliance and safety.
+ Tour work areas to identify and correct unsafe behaviors.
+ Conduct safety drills and support emergency response activities.
+ Perform weekly, monthly, and quarterly safety audits.
Essential Skills
+ Safety training and environmental health and safety knowledge.
+ EHS experience in a manufacturing setting.
+ Experience with audits, compliance, and safety programs.
+ Knowledge of OSHA programs including fall protection, machine guarding, hazardous materials, PPE, electrical safety, hearing conservation program, respiratory protection program, and hazardous substances.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in science, chemicals, safety or a related field.
+ Must have 3+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing setting.
+ Ability to work at heights without fear.

Work Environment
This is a non-climate controlled plant with a mixture of office settings and on-floor work in a 200k sqft facility with approximately 70 employees on site.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
