Position Summary:
Nurse for Summer Academic Enrichment Programs:
Monday -Thursday from June 30th, 2025 through August 14th, 2025.
Essential Functions:
-Review all health forms for student participants prior to the start of the summer program.
-Communicate with parents/guardians as needed to ensure that medical forms and records are accurate and up-to-date (i.e. immunization records, medications, physical, etc.).
-Inform the staff members (Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Coordinators, Field Trip chaperones, etc.) of program participants under their supervision who have medical needs.
-Provide training to staff members on an as-needed basis (i.e. EpiPen delegate training).
-Monitor students with medical issues daily.
-Administer medication to students daily (as needed).
-Attend to sick or injured students.
Additional Functions:
-Attend planning meetings and student orientation before the start of summer programs.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
-Current CPR, First Aid, AED certification.
-Current Registered Nursing License.
-At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
-School Nursing background preferred.
Salary Information:
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the hourly rate/range for this position is $35.00-$40.00 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
