    Job Summary

    The email marketing program manager will lead the delivery of email communications for the YMCA of Greater Seattle (YGS). This role is responsible for the execution, optimization, and analysis of email marketing efforts, including the management of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC). The manager will work cross-functionally with teams across YGS membership, fundraising, program marketing, operations, creative services, and digital experience, to plan and deliver one-time email campaigns, automated email customer journeys, and email customer surveys. The successful candidate will have hands-on expertise in email campaign setup and delivery, audience segmentation, email testing methodologies, reporting and analytics, and data feed integrations. The email marketing program manager plays a key role in driving audience engagement, member retention, and revenue through efficient, data-informed email marketing practices.

    Hiring Range: $77,968-$79,000 annually

    Responsibilities

    + Plan, build, and deploy email marketing campaigns, including automated customer journeys, one-time sends, and email customer surveys, using Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC).

    + Conduct ongoing A|B testing on subject lines, content, send times, audience segments, and call to actions (CTAs) to improve open rates, click-through rates, and conversions.

    + Analyze email performance and customer behavior to provide actionable insights that inform strategic decisions and campaign optimizations.

    + Create and manage targeted audience segmentations based on behavior, lifecycle status, and program engagement and enrollment status.

    + Set up and monitor automated email journeys in SFMC Journey Builder, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

    + Oversee the integration of user data feeds from internal systems into Salesforce Marketing Cloud for use in segmentation and personalization of email campaigns.

    + Partner with internal stakeholders to align campaign strategy with business objectives and ensure timely execution of email communications.

    + Manage the delivery of email surveys in collaboration with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders.

    + Serve as the subject matter expert for Salesforce Marketing Cloud, staying informed of new features, tools, and industry best practices.

    + Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, CAN-SPAM, and internal data governance policies.

    + Maintain campaign documentation, QA processes, and reporting frameworks.

    + Support vendor relationships related to email platforms, survey tools, and list hygiene services.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education

    + Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.

    Experience

    + Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in email marketing, CRM/lifecycle marketing, digital campaign management, or a related role.

    + Proven experience planning and executing email marketing strategies in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), including Journey Builder and Audience Builder.

    + Strong background in data-driven marketing, with demonstrated success using A|B testing, audience segmentation, and analytics to optimize campaign performance.

     

    Technical Skills

     

    + Proficient in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio).

    + Experience working with HTML email templates and troubleshooting rendering or formatting issues across core email client platforms.

    + Familiarity with SQL for data queries and segmentation.

    + Working knowledge of email compliance best practices (e.g., CAN-SPAM, GDPR) and email deliverability standards.

    + Experience managing user record feeds and integrations between CRM and marketing automation platforms.

    + Familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and Power BI is a plus.

    + Demonstrated ability to convey email marketing impact to stakeholders and cross-functional teams through clear reporting and presentations.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience in a mission-driven or nonprofit environment.

    + Familiarity with SMS, mobile push, or multi-channel campaign coordination.

    + Vendor management experience for marketing platforms or research survey tools.

     

    Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience that provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.

    Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This is a hybrid position that allows some remote work with in-office presence requirements.

This position requires occasionally lifting office products and supplies up to 20 pounds.
