    Required Skills:

    Software Engineer, Systems Responsibilities:

    1. Research, design, develop, build and test operating systems-level software, drivers, kernel level components and frameworks for Meta VR devices.

    2. Build new features and improve existing products.

    3. Design and implement components at all layers of the system, such as kernel, synchronization primitives, resource allocators, memory management, security, I/O systems, and persistence.

    4. Design and implement drivers and services that operate efficiently in a constrained environment yet when pressed can efficiently deliver large volumes of data with low-latency and high-bandwidth.

    5. Own the definition of one or more work streams focused on hardware bringup, peripheral drivers and communication, silicon integration and power and performance management and optimization.

    6. Develop a strong understanding of relevant product area, codebase, and/or systems.

    7. Demonstrate proficiency in data analysis, programming and software engineering.

    8. Produce high quality code with good test coverage, using modern abstractions and frameworks.

    9. Receive general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects or assignments, work independently, use available resources to get unblocked, and complete tasks on-schedule by exercising strong judgment and problem solving skills.

    10. Master internal development standards from developing to releasing code in order to take on tasks and projects with increasing levels of complexity.

    11. Actively seek and give feedback in alignment with company Performance Philosophy.

    12. Developing display drivers and display bring up for Meta devices.

    13. Implementation of display SW features to support VR products.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications:

    14. Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Software, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.

    15. Requires completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis in the following:

    16. 1. Coding in one of the following industry-standard languages: C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Javascript

    17. 2. Bringing up new devices and lead debugging and performance tuning exercises that span multiple hardware/firmware/software teams

    18. 3. Kernel and OS SW development

    19. 4. Software development tools: Code editors (VIM or Emacs), and revision control systems (Subversion, GIT, or Perforce)

    20. 5. Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS including file manipulation and simple commands

    21. 6. Driver development and display engineering

    22. 7. Building highly-scalable performant solutions

    23. 8. Algorithms.

    Public Compensation:

    $258,524/year to $268,865/year + bonus + equity + benefits
