Job Description
The New York City Department of Correction (DOC) is an integral part of the City’s evolving criminal justice system, participating in reform initiatives and strategies aimed to move the City towards a smaller jail system without compromising public safety. The DOC is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees, visitors, volunteers, and people in our custody. Importantly, safe jails enable DOC to provide people in custody with the tools and opportunities they need to successfully re-enter their communities. The DOC operates facilities and court commands across the five boroughs with more than 7,500 diverse professionals and knowledgeable experts.
The New York City Department of Correction is seeking a highly motivated, collaborative and goal-oriented candidate to join the Human Resource Division. The Executive Director of Operations will work under the Associate Commissioner and play a key role in supporting the Human Resources Division. The Human Resources Division ensures that the Department has staff, resources and support necessary to operate efficiently. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Manage the upgrade and implementation of related appropriate system of policies,
internal controls, data collection, and evaluation standards and procedures.
- Prepare reports and materials for briefings and meetings with internal and external
stakeholders.
- Liaise with other internal units and city agencies to collaborate on developing new policies
in-line with ongoing reform efforts
- Oversee and coordinate various projects and initiatives related to operational improvements,
system implementations, or organizational changes.
- Monitor project progress, manage timelines, and ensure successful project delivery.
- Proactively problem solve issues to fast-track creative solutions.
- Resolve technical and operational issues as required.
- Attend meetings with and on behalf of the Human Resources Division
- Supervise Citytime Management and Shield Room operations
- Perform other related duties as necessary

Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and four years of satisfactory full-time experience in the field of investigations, auditing, law enforcement, criminal justice, or in a major operational area of the agency in which the appointment is to be made, 18 months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, or
executive capacity or supervising a staff performing investigations or related work; or
2. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" above. However, all candidates must have the18 months of experience in an administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory capacity as described in "1" above.

Salary Min: $ 66,066.00
Salary Max: $181,807.00
