Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Houston, Texas. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise in financial processes and reporting while ensuring accuracy in accounting operations. Responsibilities:
• Process and manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions with accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform routine and complex bank reconciliations to ensure alignment of financial records.
• Maintain and update the general ledger with accurate data entries and corrections.
• Prepare journal entries and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist in month-end closing activities, including reconciliation and reporting tasks.
• Utilize NetSuite and BlackLine systems to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
• Monitor and resolve discrepancies in financial records to uphold accuracy.
• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Collaborate with team members to improve accounting workflows and procedures. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
• Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.
• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting month-end close procedures.
• Familiarity with NetSuite and BlackLine systems is required.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
