Description

Public Accounting firm located in the Wilmington Delaware area seeks a Staff Accountant who can handle supporting day-to-day accounting operations. As the Staff Accountant, you will maintain the general ledger, perform balance sheet analysis, assist with expense analysis and reconciliation, prepare supporting schedules, complete fixed asset reporting, enter payroll journal entries into the ERP system, generate monthly bonus calculations, handle employee expense reimbursements, and provide other accounting support as needed. The ideal candidate for this role should have great problem-solving skills, excellent time-management and strong budgeting/forecasting abilities that will ensure revenue generation.

Everyday Responsibilities

• Support daily accounting functions

• Prepare and post journal entries in the general ledger

• Assist with the month end/year end process

• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

• Support accounts payable and receivable processes

• Help prepare internal financial reports and documentation for audits

• Perform audits by implementing industry-specific procedures and evaluating organizational risks

• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes

• Ad hoc financial analysis projects as requested

Requirements

The ideal Staff Accountant MUST have a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.

Other requirements for the Staff Accountant role include and are not limited to:

• 0-3 years of experience

• CPA preferred

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

• Working knowledge of ERP systems

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
