**Pay Range:** $131,248 to $220,501 per year
Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data. The pay range for each role reflects Rush’s anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.
Summary:
The RUCC Director of Infusion Nursing RN has responsibility and accountability for establishing and maintaining excellence and uniformity in nursing practice and operations for all oncology infusion sites within the RUCC service line. Under the direction of the Associate Vice-President of Nursing for the Cancer Center, The Director of Infusion Nursing provides oversight to infusion nursing managers and staff on strategic initiatives, clinical practice, operational and financial efficiencies. This director focuses on recruitment and retention strategies, staff engagement, promotes professionalism as well as manager and staff growth. He/she collaborates with providers, RUCC, Rush Medical Group (RMG) and hospital leaders to promote Cancer Center growth and initiatives, safety, and a healthy and supportive environment for patients, families, and staff. This director holds themselves and others accountable for meeting standards which may be informed by industry best practices or may be regulatory in nature. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:

1. Engage in the development and implementation of the strategic plan for Infusion Nursing and support staff that is aligned with the RUCC and RUMC.
2. Translates the RUCC vision and strategic plan into measurable goals and sustainable programs.
3. Assumes a leadership role in analytical problem solving of both clinical and system wide issues.
4. Promotes Rush University cancer programs both internally and externally.
5. Monitors volume and acuity changes of patient population and optimizes staffing model to meet demand.
6. Maintains an environment that promotes patient safety, high reliability of processes, and quality outcomes throughout all sites.
7. Participates in and assures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Maintains a thorough understanding of requirements and standards
8. Identifies opportunities and implements systems and procedures to improve the value of care and services to patients and families cared for in the RUCC and across the care continuum of Rush
9. Analyzes fiscal and budgetary implications when modifying practice and operational systems.
10. Demonstrates financial accountability by managing human and capital resources in accordance with the annual budget.
11. Establishes procedures and processes to ensure administrative management of the unit.
12. Collaborates on the development, implementation and monitoring of quality initiatives for cancer infusion services throughout the service line.
13. Cultivates a culture that promotes and rewards professional growth, interdisciplinary collaboration, constructive communication, flexibility, teamwork, leadership, and customer service.
14. Collaborates in the recruitment and training of infusion nurses and support staff to deliver a high quality and consistent standard of nursing care.
15. Supports consistency in nursing performance appraisal and clinical ladder processes utilizing established standards of practice.
16. Maintains a focus on nursing and support staff talent management and retention.
17. Cultivates a culture of support for shared governance and professional nursing practice within RUCC
18. Leverages nursing assets/strengths that optimize quality and safety outcomes.
19. Facilitates the development and implementation of evidence-based practice to ensure quality outcomes and nurse-sensitive indicator benchmarks are achieved based on internal and external benchmarks.
20. Monitors and analyzes data to optimize patient experience
21. Promotes the development and implementation of inter-and intra-disciplinary research, quality, and evidenced-based practice.
22. Contributes to the advancement of nursing through professional and scholarly activities.
23. Promotes the development of infrastructure to support Magnet® designation and professional nursing model.
24. Develops oncology nurse leaders and supports autonomy, involvement, and empowerment.
25. Advocates for RUCC professional nursing while demonstrating knowledge and passion.
26. Collaborates with AVP, clinical nurse specialist and other leaders to provide educational offerings to maintain staff knowledge of current oncology principles and treatments.
27. Provides management development and coaching for other members of the nursing team.
28. Mentors and coaches delegation and management skills along with career development.
29. Resolves conflict to continuously improve team relationships at the unit and department level.
30. Provides and invites ongoing performance feedback to peers, staff and other disciplines to achieve positive clinical and service outcomes.
31. Creates a human resource strategy which includes the management of performance through recruitment, rewards, recognition, counseling and disciplinary action
32. Represents the medical center at state, local and national levels through involvement in professional associations and organization. Supports and encourages similar involvement among RUMG nursing leaders.
33. Models the mission vision and values of Rush University Medical Center and Rush Nursing
34. Serves as a role model for the actions, values, and principles necessary to achieve organizational goals.
35. Displays a commitment to the development of a culture of inclusion within management, staffing, and patient care
