Description

Our client, an innovative and fast-growing technology company, is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Supervisor/Manager to join their team. In this role, you will oversee employee compensation and benefits processing to ensure timely and accurate payroll operations. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments and is skilled in handling multi-state payroll complexities, including those unique to the tech industry, such as stock options and remote workforce payroll. Key Responsibilities:

+ Manage semi-monthly or bi-weekly payroll for salaried, hourly, and remote employees across multiple states, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

+ Maintain data integrity in payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paylocity, or similar platforms), including updates for new hires, terminations, promotions, and pay adjustments.

+ Stay updated on tax laws, labor regulations, and compliance requirements related to payroll, benefits, and equity programs within the tech industry.

+ Handle payroll-related calculations for stock options, RSUs (restricted stock units), and any exercised equity plans.

+ Generate and review payroll reports, including tax filings, deductions, overtime, headcount summaries, and general ledger reconciliations.

+ Administer payroll deductions for health insurance, retirement plans, and other company benefits.

+ Support internal and external payroll audits, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to all laws and regulations.

+ Address employee inquiries regarding pay discrepancies, deductions, or benefit payouts.

+ Work closely with HR, accounting, and finance teams to streamline processes and ensure payroll accuracy.

Requirements

+ 3+ years of payroll experience, preferably within the tech industry or a fast-paced corporate environment.

+ Experience with multi-state payroll and remote workforce compliance.

+ Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience. CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) designation is a plus.

+ Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, Paylocity, Workday, or similar platforms).

+ Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, VLOOKUPS, and pivot tables.

+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

+ Excellent problem-solving abilities and ability to prioritize under tight deadlines.

+ Effective communication skills to work with employees and department managers.

+ Familiarity with tech industry-specific payroll practices, such as equity compensation and contractor payment structures.

+ Comprehensive knowledge of employment tax laws, labor laws, and employee benefits.
