Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Syracuse, New York. In this Contract-to-Permanent position, you will play a key role in managing essential accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries for prepaid expenses, depreciation, and interest expenses.

• Reconcile various accounts, including bank accounts, credit cards, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and intercompany balances.

• Process vendor invoices and payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Handle daily check and electronic deposits, applying payments correctly to client accounts.

• Monitor the accounts receivable inbox and address client inquiries in collaboration with project managers and the finance team.

• Send monthly client statements and follow up on overdue invoices, particularly those exceeding 90 days.

• Review and approve employee expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies.

• Maintain and update the fixed asset register, including supporting monthly depreciation entries.

• Assist with vendor setup, including collecting W-9 forms and managing vendor records.

• Provide support for client billing platforms and assist in project setup and closure processes. Requirements • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.

• Strong knowledge of general ledger principles and accounting practices.

• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

• Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple deadlines.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and clients.
