    Become a Government Contracts and Compliance, Associate Specialist at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow.

     

    In this job, you'll support compliance and governance for government contracts and grants. The role ensures the organization meets federal and state regulatory requirements, maintains proper documentation, and aligns internal processes with external standards.

    Primary Functions:

    Government Contract & Grant Regulatory Requirements Governance

    + Assist with governance and oversight of company's regulatory requirements in contracts with government agencies

    + Help ensure company complies with executive orders relating to government contracts.

    + Assist with maintenance of catalogs of contracts, contract owners, and regulatory requirements.

    + Help interpret and communicate governmental requirements to internal stakeholders.

    + Assist with annual SAM (System for Award Management) registration with federal government.

    Internal Compliance Program Support

    + Help ensure government contract compliance program aligns with internal audits and compliance frameworks like Risk Based Compliance Model.

    + Help organizational units build and maintain effective compliance programs.

    + Provide guidance, resources, and oversight to ensure consistent compliance practices.

    + Support due diligence efforts and respond to compliance-related inquiries.

    Affiliate Compliance Officer Support

    + Assist with compliance program support in the Affiliate Compliance Officer, including the Affiliate Transaction Rules and FERC Standards of Conduct.

    Responsibilities

    + Aids in assembling various reports and evidence to convey to external regulators

    + Assists in formulating positions and draft regulatory filings to support advocacy efforts

    + Curates and maintains findings in consolidated, searchable database for cross-organization use

    + Assists in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with government, regulators, utilities and market participants

    + Assists with advising business units on compliance with regulations and requirements for the marketing and sale of energy, and transactional and operating rules and guidelines

    + Keeps up to date with changes in regulatory legislation and guidelines

    + Supports in the preparing of all regulatory filings

    + Assists in evaluating and developing recommendations on cost recovery, ratemaking, customer programs and electricity rate issues

    + Maintains and updates all necessary management reports, inspection findings database, and dashboard

    + Ensures that quality standards are met and submissions meet strict deadlines

    + A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Experience with regulatory filings/proceedings and compliance standards.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Associate's degree or higher in Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science or related field.

    + One (1) or more years of experience working with government contract compliance or any government contracting experience

    + Intermediate to advanced experience working with Excel

    + Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral

    + Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail

    Additional Information

    + This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
