Position Details
General Statement
The University Financial Services Accounting Office provides accounting and business services for all components of the University. We ensure that MSU business transactions are conducted and reported efficiently, effectively, and in accordance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Process inter-unit journals between MSU and other agencies of the State of Montana
+ Manage the purchasing card program across all four campuses
+ Process incoming and outgoing wire payments
+ Reconcile accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies
+ Monitor, reconcile, and allocate merchant credit card fees across MSU departments
+ Assist, train, and guide other MSU campuses and departments with issues or questions, ensuring University-wide compliance with policies and guidelines
+ Assist other staff in the accounting office by cross-training and serving as backup as needed
+ Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
+ Relevant knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
+ Demonstrated experience with research, analyzing and reconciling skills.
+ Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
+ Demonstrated working knowledge of a Financial ERP system.
+ Relevant knowledge of University & State of Montana policies and procedures.
+ Relevant knowledge of banking procedures.
+ Accounting or Finance Degree.
